I am very pleased with the course and our instructor. The exercise sheets were very helpful. Watching the instructor use the pen was equally helpful. Now comes practice, practice, practice.

This is a very good match for me. I have the parallel pen already for a year but I clearly wasn't using it right. I find this course very nice, so far.

It is still early to really comment on anything but the way Rachel is explaining things, I likes her teaching already. I will follow through to the end for sure.

What calligraphy set should I get?
Most sets don't include beginner-friendly tools and are often overpriced. Even then, it really depends on which style you want to learn. Check out our buying guide for some help in choosing the right tools to start with.
Can I use a fountain pen?
Pen holders and nibs are designed to give you the best results but fountain pens do have the advantage of being more convenient and portable. Pilot Parallels are a good choice for broad edge scripts. For pointed pen scripts, there are some mods you can do to a fountain pen but dip pen nibs will give you the best quality and flexibility. Check out r/fountainpens for more info.
What if I want to do digital calligraphy?
It's recommended to learn the script you want to practice with nib and paper before attempting digital calligraphy. Here is a free tutorial to help you get started doing digital modern calligraphy.
Can I still do calligraphy if my handwriting is bad?
Calligraphy skill really doesn't depend on your handwriting skill. To learn a script, you'd be practicing strokes that make up letters first, then using that practice to make lower then uppercase letters which has very little to do with your handwriting.
